Tonight we hosted an interactive phone conversation with Keith LaMar, people gathered across the country to listen and participate in the conversation between Keith and his friend, Mars
Zaineb Goetia (former member of the band Blackbird Raum). They discussed connection with humanity in the age of
capitalism, dehumanization of prison, and resistance struggles. Mars is
also a single mom, living on the central coast of California and working
on radical conflict support within social movements and struggles.
The audio of this conversation is available here.

The Lucasville Uprising was a rebellion against oppressive and racist policies at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF) in Lucasville, OH. Nine inmates and one guard died during the uprising in April of 1993. Today, many people are serving time or condemned to death by the state of Ohio in relation to the uprising. We demand amnesty for all of these inmates. The conditions at SOCF were (and still are) intolerable and unconscionable.

This is beyond profound! Where it is heartbreaking because of the gross reality that so many are blindly trapped in the belly of the beast, it is equally inspiring to see that a Man who has undergone so much pain as result of it, can see to express... so vividly what is needed to have a better world!
